It’s amazing what you happen upon while rooting through old shelves and stacks of books. Over the past year or so I’ve been rooting through the archives in an attempt to find old photographs from the pre-vinyl days. Some of these photos have already been put up on the work website and flickr account.
Last week I found a tattered little photo album tucked behind some papers in the back room at work and, contained therein, some priceless photos from my dad’s old workshop at Pine Road in Bournemouth. These were taken before the recession hit, when he had two signwriters working under him. The workshop was a vast space – an old stable that had been converted into a ramshackle two floors, along with an outside yard. Following this, premises and staff had to be scaled right down to the point that my dad, throughout the nineties, would be working on his own from a workshop at the back of our house.I’ve started compiling these photos as an album on our Flickr photostream. Please take a look here.
